#T5W TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: Books from Before I Joined the Blogosphere

Hey guys! This is a new feature I joined from Goodreads' Top 5 Wednesdays, a weekly book group about our top five favorite things in the middle of the week.

Created by Lainey from GingerReadsLainey and now hosted by Samantha from ThoughtsonTomes, this week's entry describes the top 5 books I'd read before I'd joined the book blogosphere in 2014. So, everything from 2014 and back.

August 23rd: Books from Before You Joined ________
-- These are some of your favorite books from before you joined the online book community, whether that be booktube, goodreads, blogs, bookstagram, twitter, tumblr, etc.

5. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I first had read Twilight before VA, back in 2007-2008, but then I'd wanted to get into some different vampire books, which had led me to Vampire Academy. These books were fun and cute and Rose was a total badass and hilarious to get into.

4. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann M. Brashares

This was another book series that showcased a lot of girl power, but without the fantasy and heavy, intense romance. What I loved about this series was how relatable it was. Lena, Carmen, Tibby and Bridget reminded me so much of me and my friends, and the family issues we'd been through. But we'd always managed to pick up right where we'd left off and make it fun.

3. Evermore by Alyson Noel

And now for the bad books before I'd realized the error of my ways! But I was young and didn't know any better. It's ok though, these books taught me how to analyze what's good literature, and what could have used more editing and processing. Like Evermore by Alyson Noel... God, was this book confusing! It gave me Twilight vibes, without being Twilight at all. I think the worst part of it was not knowing where the guy and girl would end up as a couple. They don't have a clear inspection as to what they want, which was frustrating.

2. Fallen by Lauren Kate

Fallen was another one of those bad books lol. It was just bad; the synopsis involved fallen angels, which was the Thing at the time, and I'd thought it'd be a good read. Boy, was I wrong! I wrote a short review on my Goodreads account, but it was basically the most basic book I'd ever read. There are about 5 more (why?!) but I'm definitely not getting into that again.

1. Marked (House of Night) by P.C. and Kristin Cast

House of Night was a cute book! It reminded me a lot of Vampire Academy, what with the different types of vampires with powers and royalty. The main protagonist was funny, but not too bright. And the world behind it was interesting too, in a more simplistic way.
